With some of the drops I've already seen from trash mobs, and some of the rewards I've seen from easily done quests in the expansion, I was just wondering if there's any point anymore to doing MC, AQ or ZG? I am not sure about loot in BWL but I've already upgraded a couple of my older items with greens. I"ve still not upgraded an epic, yet, but I have no doubt that soon I will find a green that will be better than an epic that I currently own.
It's almost like Blizzard wants 60+ people to completely forget about the old stuff and do only new, because that is exactly what is happening with some of the sick greens I've already seen. If the Greens are looking like this, I can't wait to see what the 70 epic stuff will look like.

Personally I'm actually looking foward to revisiting some of the old content once I'm 70. Seeing what instances I can solo and getting some much deserved revenge on some NPCs and bosses. I'd like to finish my rep with the AD, ZG, and AQ.
Also I'm a fan of the lore and still am look foward to Downing Nef, Cthun and whoever else I may have missed just to experience it.

i dont see a point in ever going in the old instances..i would like to down the bosses for the experience though..however with brandnew instances opening up i see use more likley to hit the new 25 mans opposed to the old 40's

Some things will be worth doing, as we saw with Ony the other night she still drops two things everyone wants. Bag and her head. ZG still has the leg and head enchant, which for now is still the best enchant in the game (in most cases) so thats worth doing occasionally. But MC, BWL, aq20 and some others, maybe. I think they might be fun when they are doable by fewer than 40 people. Who knows, remember this is about fun, and I know that I've had fun doing BRD runs when I knew for sure there wasn't anything I wanted/needed. Sometimes is fun to run easy content just for the fun of hanging out with friends.

And all the old instances will be revisited once you're 70...the heroic setting will create a whole new set of challenges...and loot.

I thought I read somewhere on the wow site that the heroic difficulty was only for the Outland instances.

I think doing the old ones would be a good way to get gear for your up and coming Outlanders.

I don't personally think there is any point in doing MC, ZG, etc. I have seen Tier 2 Helms replaced by lvl 62 Greens. All of Tier 2 is supposed to be replaced by lvl 63 items. To me it is kinda pointless in spending hrs upon hrs in those instances for loot that is replaced so easily by questing. As for the head and bag (ony), I would agree that they are still nice drops but I have the feeling soon they will also be replaced by Outlands Quests unfortunately.

if all you care about is gear then no youll never go back, but i play for fun, i still do ZF, and BRD, i cant imagine why i woudlnt do ZG or AQ or MC if i had friends that wanted to. there is no gear for my rogue in ramparts, but if i have friends that want to run it, id rather do a 1 hour instance with people i know, than an hour of soloing any day of the week. im not racing to 70, im simply trying to keep up with the people i run isntances with. I had alot of fun exploring slave pens, and then goign back and teachign others. and i look forward to the underbog and the 10 man at hellfire ramparts. but if all you care about is gettign better gear and higher levels, you are missing out on alot of the fun the game has to offer. gadiant
like always if anyone nees a carrot on a stick jsut let me know

Getting the experience that comes with learning the 40-man raid instances, the mobs, and the bosses there is still valuable.
Simple things like how to wait for sunders before dpsing, or watching for debuffs to remove (magic, poison, disease, curse), healing or tank transitions, hugging surgers or staying away from blood drinkers - they all help build a good raider.
Raiding, to me, is moving past the tank&spank of the 20-55 instances.
